Taehyung as a friend could be briefly described as a strict dad. He can't handle much emotion or being there for those who need a big hug and sweet words - he's much more the type of guy who will openly tell you how he sees the situation and try to bring you peace with the truth, without a hug of course. Growing up in a strict and highly disciplined household itself, Taehyung isn't conforming to such things and it's definitely out of his comfort zone. Averse to all the gossip from Jisoo, which only gets an annoyed eye roll from him in response, or Jeno's nightly achievements, which leave him cold and uninterested. Taehyung brings a kind of classy character to the group. Taehyung is the rational one among them, who keeps his friends away from all the traps, some of which they build themselves, and clearly shows them their decision. You don't need to wait for mercy or reassuring words from Taehyung, because he doesn't have them. He is certainly not tactless and loves his friends, but only in his slightly distant and yet profound way. After all, he has only his mind and can do little with sentimentalism, which makes him seem inaccessible at first. Nevertheless, Taehyung is someone who really cares for the ones he loves and enjoys spending his free time, even without a book in his hand or not sitting in the library. He has found a quiet place with Jungkook, Jisoo, Hwayoung and Mimi. Especially Jungkook is someone with whom he can switch off well without taking on the strict role, because he has a bit more sanity than Jisoo and Mimi - the ones he often has to save. He spends a lot of time in the library with Hwayoung and talks to her about lots of books and ideas. Also Yeonjun has become a very close friend to him, as they both share the same passion and yet Yeonjun also knows when his sarcastic jokes can be put to rest. With Haechan, he is more on a peaceful but also very distant level, primarily because he can't understand his friend's impulsive feelings. Taehyung gets results with words, while Haechan is more satisfied with actions. He doesn't really understand this behavior, because why act out an emotion when the result can only last for a few hours and perhaps nothing can be changed.
